Namane Magau

Namane Magau. Says it's a privilege to discuss role of professionals in SA's democracy

Namane Magau is CEO of B&D Solutions, a management consultancy which she established. She does management consulting work in the public and private sectors and is involved in several business enterprises. She is also President of the International Women’s Forum of South Africa and past-President of the Businesswomen’s Association.


An Executive Director of women’s investment group Tselane Basadi, Namane spearheaded a BEE transaction with Merrill Lynch. She serves on the boards of Santam, MAN Military Vehicle Systems RSA, Murray & Roberts and NECSA.


Namane has occupied a number of key positions in the past, including:


Executive Director for Human Capital Services, SABC
Executive Vice President: Human Resources, CSIR
Director, Policy Unit, Development Bank of Southern Africa
She has professional qualifications and experience in executive leadership, business development, education, human development and human resources management. She has also been involved in several initiatives to support the development of women entrepreneurs, including Technology for Women in Business (TWIB).


As a Doctoral student at Harvard University, Namane served on the Harvard Educational Review board. In South Africa she led the development of the Human Resource Development Strategy for the Reconstruction and Development Programme. She was also convener of the National Task Group: Future Needs and Priorities for the National Commission on Higher Education, and Commissioner in the Independent Media Commission.

Namane Magau is a South African Businesswomen. She is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Business & Development Solutions (Proprietary) Limited. Magau serves on various boards and councils at different companies.
